KKBB

Reimagining the neighbourhood pet store through ritual, refill and play.

WARM, PLAYFUL, HUMAN

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang is a conceptual retail brand built around a simple observation: cat products are often treated as functional necessities rather than part of a meaningful relationship between pets and their owners.

The brand explores a more engaging alternative — a refill-first retail experience where everyday cat essentials become part of an enjoyable ritual. Through playful storytelling, sustainable packaging and a distinctive retail environment, the brand transforms routine purchases into moments of delight.

Cats may be domesticated, but their instincts aren't. The identity draws from the contrast between a cat's wild nature and its comfortable domestic life. This tension became the foundation for the brand's voice, visual language and customer experience.

BRAND IDEA
Building A Playful But Distinctive Identity

The visual system combines bold typography, simplified feline illustrations and recurring graphic motifs inspired by scratching, prowling and hunting behaviours. Every element was designed to feel energetic, memorable and slightly mischievous—much like the personalities of the animals the

brand serves.

PACKAGING SYSTEM
Designing A Cohesive Product Ecosystem

The challenge was creating a flexible packaging system capable of spanning multiple product categories while maintaining a consistent brand presence. Each product introduces its own character while remaining recognisably part of the KKBB world. The resulting system balances:

• Strong shelf recognition    • Category differentiation
• Playful storytelling .               • Sustainable refill principles

REFILL EXPERIENCE
Rethinking Everyday Pet Essentials

Instead of relying entirely on disposable packaging, the retail experience encourages customers to refill products directly from in-store dispensers.

This approach reduces waste while creating a more tactile and memorable shopping experience.

Small details such as reusable paper bags, refill labels and product naming help reinforce the

brand's sustainability goals without becoming overly instructional.

RETAIL ENVIRONMENT
Extending The Brand Beyond Packaging

The retail space was designed as a physical expression of the brand. Natural materials, refill

stations and playful visual moments create an environment that feels approachable and characterful rather than transactional.
The space demonstrates how the identity system can scale beyond packaging into environmental branding and customer experience.

KKBB demonstrates my approach to building brand worlds that extend across identity, packaging and physical environments.
The project explores how thoughtful storytelling and systems thinking can transform an everyday retail category into a more engaging and memorable experience.
